The border region is afflicted by chronic degenerative diseases, for this reason, the Commission seeks to undertake training of multidisciplinary workgroups to define necessary mechanisms that tie BHC activities together with programs managed by local and state public health authorities.

It will also conduct health promotion strategies that embrace a gender perspective to promote healthy lifestyle, as well as seeking to increase the knowledge about data sources and data collection procedures among and across the U.S.-Mexico Border States.

To provide human and material resources, continuing education and constant training for public health and allied healthcare personnel, is important for the improvement of health conditions among the border population.

In its essential labor of joining binational forces, the Commission promotes binational training sessions to adopt and adapt the best practices and promising intervention models such as Pasos Adelante; Tu Corazon, Tu Vida; and Meta Salud.
