The Binational Border Conference on Infectious Diseases is a bi-annual event that brings together participants from bi-national agencies at the federal, state, and local levels, as well as local and regional health departments, to work in activities along the border, to develop global societies, to talk about global health security and about efforts to prevent and control public health emergencies.

The purpose of this conference is to summon federal, state, and local authorities on both sides of the US-Mexico border to collaborate with the Commission in order to address critical issues regarding infectious diseases and emergency preparedness systems that impact the border region in order to discuss potential solutions to those problems.
