About the Commission

  • Identify and evaluate the health problems that affect the border population of both countries, as well as facilitate actions to take care of them.
  • Promote the construction of alliances and strategies that improve the health, medical care and quality of life of the inhabitants of the border region.
  • Support the efforts of public agencies and non-profit organizations in border health promotion, prevention and care.
  • Strengthen border health information systems.
  • Train human resources involved in the various border health activities, as well as to establish links with the different binational actors to face the challenges that prevail in the region.
  • Support the prevention, promotion and care of priority diseases (tuberculosis, obesity and diabetes), infectious diseases, and public health emergencies.
